Dear Students, Friends, and Colleagues,
We’ve all been through two harsh years of global shutdowns, lockdowns, quarantines, and sheltering in place. Forced paralysis, with brief bursts of frantic activity between waves. Contraction, separation, and isolation on all fronts.

My hope for us all is that Summer 2022 will be a season of expansion. Summer always suggests possibility: School’s out, and we’re free to roam! We can enjoy longer days, vacations, and an uptick in off-hours activity.
Being active is great, but some activities are better than others. It all comes down to why we do what we do:
  •  Are you running from the feeling of being stuck? If so, your choices will be driven by restlessness, anxious FOMO, and lack of focus. You’ll be more agitated than active.
or
  • Are you moving toward what you love? Marie Kondo says only keep things that bring you joy. How about only doing things that you love? What is playful, fun, creative, inspiring? What makes you lose track of time? What makes life an adventure?
I’m a doer by nature, Type A, chronically in motion, always on to the next thing without completing the last. I get so lost in the whats, whens, wheres, and hows that I don’t pause to ask “Why?” I end up spinning too many plates.

What clarity I do have about making better choices comes directly from yogic tools:
  • Yoga postures (asana) streamline internal energy flows, allowing body, mind, and spirit to run smoothly
  • Seated meditation tames the restless mind
  •  Time outdoors/in Nature taps us into larger rhythms
  • Moving outdoors/in Nature links our bodies to external energy flows
  • Pursuing anything that lifts our minds and hearts makes us want to get up each day and get the most out of life!
So what’s it gonna be: the Heard/Depp trial or a doc about a favorite writer? Pringles or whole foods? Barhopping or beach strolling?
How can you immerse in possibility now? Keep it simple. Try setting one goal for growth in one of these areas this summer:
  1. Physical health/well being
  2. Social life
  3. Career/work-life
And tap into the source of all power with yoga practice, meditation, and good living. It all flows from there. As yoga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois used to say, “Do your practice, and all is coming!”
I can help get you started! I’m here in the Hamptons and on Zoom all summer and at your service. Reach out via text (917)975-8009 or email loisnesbitt1@gmail.com, and we’ll jumpstart your season of expansion!
Namaste,
