Dear Students, Friends, and Colleagues,
Spring is here! The daffodils withstood an unseasonal snowfall last week, and this morning I saw the first forsythia and buttercups. And of course, it’s Passover and Holy Week in the Christian calendar, reminding us that there are indeed magical forces animating this world we inhabit—and ourselves. I try to remember this every time the darkness of human strife or climate peril intrudes on my mind. While we can’t ignore these real and present dangers, we need hope to carry on at all. As a wise friend once quipped, “Even plants know to turn toward the light!”
WEBSITE REBORN!
Spring 2022 brings the rebirth of my website, www.loisnesbittyoga.com, your go-to hub for info and updates on private lessons, group classes, retreats, and special events. Kudos to my amazing new assistant for pulling this together under my detail-obsessive eye! You’ll also find new pages devoted to:
  • My YouTube channel video tips on best practices for yoga and daily living
  • blogs posted over the past 15 years
Lots of good, practical information you can dip into to reboot your own yoga. I’ve also streamlined the site for easy access to it all. Check it out now: loisnesbittyoga.com
PRIVATE YOGA: SPRING AND SUMMER
My schedule for private yoga lessons this spring and summer is filling up, so if you’ve been on the fence, take the plunge with a FREE CONSULT and find out how I can serve you. I see clients in person, on Zoom, and a combo of both.
COMING ATTRACTIONS: SMART YOGA!
Stay tuned for the launch of my new agenda: Restoring (or redirecting) yoga to serving each of you at the highest level. I’ll kick things off with my SMART YOGA MANIFESTO, in which I’ll share why too many of us are doing Dumb Yoga—which is not only dumb but dangerous. I’m sure I’ll step on a few toes with this one, so if you have strong opinions about why you do the yoga you do, stick around and join the debate about what’s best for each of us. As always, my aim is true—but I also know I don’t have all the answers!

SUMMER HOUSING: CITY AND BEACH!
Spring means summer is almost upon us! And that means New Yorkers are recalibrating their geographics. Some can’t get enough of Summer in the City, with expanding options for safe outdoor dining and days in the parks. Others head straight for the beaches, bays, golf courses and tennis courts, hiking trails and farm stands of the Hamptons. Real estate is hot in Manhattan and steamy on the East End, with pent-up Covid demand added to this playground’s annual appeal.
Good news: I’ve got options for both! City stalwarts: Check out the lovely West Village studio I am subletting for the extended summer season (late May – mid-September). Beach buddies: Grab the one spare room in my delightful home in East Hampton for a blissful full-time or weekend retreat by the sea!
Namaste,
Lois
