ABOUT LOIS
For about 35 years of Yoga, Lois Nesbitt has shared yoga with students and teachers in New York City and the Hamptons. She attracts students of all levels with her engaging and informative style. Her upbeat fusion of energizing flow and state-of-the-art alignment enables everybody to practice safely and joyfully.
Lois practiced Ashtanga Yoga for 10 years and Anusara Yoga for 15, becoming a lead teacher trainer. Passionate about the “why” behind the practice, she has studied yoga philosophy under the world’s top scholars.
In addition to public classes and private lessons, Lois leads retreats and workshops internationally. Her popular Injury Clinics and private lessons have helped many out of the pain caused by injuries, accidents, surgeries, and life’s daily wear and tear. A teacher’s teacher, Lois has trained hundreds of teachers worldwide.
Before dedicating herself to yoga, Lois was a widely published writer, editor, and artist. Check her books HIP OP: BEYOND RECOVERY and HOW WE LIVE OUR YOGA. She received her B.A., from Harvard University and her Ph.D. from Princeton University, where she learned the art of conveying complex ideas simply and playfully.

Lois Nesbitt Yoga offers “Smart Yoga” resources from Lois’ 30 years of daily yoga practice and yoga teaching. Students can find IRL and online classes, videos, blogs, books, and e-books and schedule private lessons. Whether they seek knowledge of yoga practice and yoga philosophy, guidance from a master, or connection with an authentic teacher, they can choose from private lessons, group classes, basic and advanced teacher training, and continuing-education programs and mentoring for teachers.

Lois holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from Princeton University.
